Some facts about big cats that are depressing

Tiger (Endangered) : Quickly disappearing from the wild, only 1,300 to 1,500 Indian tigers remain in India--a decline of over 50 percent in 5 years.

Jaguar (Near Threatened) : Amazon rain forests are among the last places on Earth where jaguars, the largest and most powerful cats in the Western Hemisphere, can be found in their natural splendor.

Snow Leopard (Endangered) : WWF helped lead a study that revealed a dramatic decline in populations of this magnificent species over a 10-year period.

Lion (Vunerable) : In Namibia--where vulnerable lions roam--WWF supports conservation approaches that are premised upon sustainable ecotourism, habitat conservation efforts, and more.

Amur Leopard (Critically endangered) : Recent studies revealed four new litters of Amur leopards. Yet this species remains the most endangered of all the big cats--with only about 35 remaining in the wild--and poaching continues.

Cheetah (Vunerable) : WWF has been working for almost 40 years with communities in the spectacularly rich ecoregion of Coastal East Africa, part of the cheetah's habitat.

I think thats discusting, and of course ppl are chopping down by my guess the Amazon rainforest, the only place in the world to see the Jaguar living in the wild in its true colours. I think that chopping down the Amazon rainforest would make the Jaguar one of the coolest big cats, by my guess extinct and of course the Indian Tiger. ... bloggers birthday I would like to wish everyone of the ppl who come to this and all my bloggers a merry xmas and a happy new year. I have got a special picture for the first year and its not got any cats or dogs unfortunatly. It is a picture of a megamouthed shark, the second biggest shark in the ocean, the first is the whale shark and the third is the basking shark. I am thinking next year it will be a tiger or maybe a big cat, I would like to know ur oppinions on what next years picture should be. Plz email me ur ideas and I will think about it personally in my own time not when I have to do jobs or something, if all of us help out we can make this blog a place for all people to be wether u like cats and dogs or not. Bad news for Humpback Whale Fans

China is planning 2 go on a hunt to kill 50 of the worlds most rarest whale (the Humpback Whale) and it ends in April. NZ Greenpeace and another company who like endangered animals are planning 2 do all that they can 2 stop this killing catastrophe. In my point of veiw, China has been the worst country I have ever seen 2 disregard animals, one of the main animals that gets killed everyday is my favourite big cat, believe it or not this big cat is called the tiger.

No 2 of big cats - The Snow Leopard

Sorry guys, I am so sorry that this took 2 long. I have not had any comments about how long this would take and wether it would be up by 2008 but im still sorry about this having to take so long, I have been busy with other stuff but the good news is that its here, a report on the Snow Leopards. Thats start with a cute picture so we can get in the mood about Snow Lepords.

1... 2... 3... isnt it adorable but there is more pictures 2 come. Snow Leopards are the coolest cats in the universe apart from the tiger but boy arnt they cute. I luv them to pieces and they are by far the emperors right hand, the one that the emporer can trust because of its beauty and loyalty.
This is why they r the emporers right hand, just look at the picture right now and u can see in its eyes that it trusts u 100 percent. Here is a picture of some Juveniles and then after that I will tell u about another blog that has tigers and of course snow leapords on it, its not hosted by Blogger at all. I will also tell u where Snow Leopords live.
Snow Leopards live in the Himalayas which is a range of mountains in Asia. I dunno how these big cats are surviving in the wild or what their population is 2day but I definatly know that they r still out there waiting for us to save them. Here is that website I was talking about.

Male 3 legged tiger caught on camera traps

If u r interested in tigers and camera traps, here is a website 4 u. Yes its another website from WWF, whom which I am a loyal fan 2 since I get their newsletters on a weekly buisness, or a daily buisness as I would say. They have got pictures of a 3 legged tiger on camera traps, they suspect that this tiger either clawed or scratched its way out of a trap because they found a tigers lower foot in a bear trap. Thank goodness that if it was that tiger that did it, it survived with only a minor injury rather than staying there and waiting for poachers to kill it. Rumors in Australia

There has been a rumor and it has got to do with a big cat in Australia. It could be true but it couldnt be true. This rumor is that there is a big cat roaming in Australia wild. I will tell ya when I see more stuff about this. There is a pic at the bottom of this page of one, its the black panther. Heres another one to add 2 ur plight.

Goin to Australia

Since I am going to Australia soon I thought about putting a article on the top dog around there, the Dingo. Heres a picture of it.

What a perfect stance on a rocky hill. It is native to Australia and if you ever go near a Auzzie island u will see tame dingos coming closer to u not behind a zoo safety fence. A did u know fact from WWF

I got this email today from WWF since I have subscribed to WWF Newsletters, and at the end it came with a 'Did u know?' fact which was this :

"At current rates of loss, many of the world's species of wildcats could become extinct in the next 25 years. Wild canines are declining just as quickly."

How shocked and appauled was I to read this fact, its so horrible so I thought hey I might want to put this on my blog. If u guys want to send a pre - written letter to your congress (government) about the 'Great Cats and Rare Canids bill'. There was support for it in I guess the American government. The Amur Leopard - The Rarest Big Cat

I just thought to tell u all that I am just promoting a big cat. Only 20 in the wild right now, I learnt that from Planet Earth. It lives in America and its name is the Amur Leopard.

3 - She cares about animals just like me
4 - She is a good mum to me, my other 3 sisters and my brother
5 - She is really nice to me and sometimes she gives us treats which we all like and adore (thanks mum for giving us treats
6 - Even though people might not like their mums or get to know them, she and I are good friends as well as mother and daughter.

The King Cheetah

There are species today which facinate me, one is the King Cheetah. Its got stripes and spots and Animal Planet as well as myself agree that this cat is the most magnificent and beautiful of big cats in the world. 'Eye of the Leopard' on Discovery Channel

Did any of u guys see the programme 'Eye of the Leopard' on Discovery Channel on either Saturday night or Sunday morning on Sky? I did (although I missed more than I could handle as I went for a trip to Lawrence to buy stuff with my pocket money I get every week at the local 4 Square.) and it was awesome. It shed light into the plight of the leopard and they said if the eye brings life and hope then the leopard is the eye of Africa. U guys can comment on it when ever u saw it ok, I want to hear your views on the story that they shot (thats if u ever watched it like me and my family). I hope u like the picture of the Leopards down below this sentence.

Wahoo ... a new big cat

Recent news has spread throughout the world (I guess) is there is a new big cat hitting the streets of Borneo. This new cat is the Borneon Clouded Leopard. My Mum said something and I totally agree with her, this thing is that this cat is not so beautifuller and cooler than the tiger but it is better than the rest. Here is a photo of this cool big cat that has been hitting our news.

Its the pride of good feelings to find such a rare treasure and big cat like this ok. My guess is that Tigers and Borneon Clouded Leopards totaly rule. It is the king of the Borneon jungle because its the top predator of where it lives. If u want to learn more about this cool big cat check out this website. It is a news report on this cool cat.

Good news for Tigers and Leopards ...

Found a email that I forgot about which said that people in Indonesia have caught some guys who do more major bust in leopard skins and tiger skins than I can count. They have caught the people, taken the bust of tiger skins and leopard skins of their hands. They might be charged with almost serious prison sentences and by my right they will if I was the judge of that court which I am not. It was in a email from WWF, actually that email was 1 of my WWF newsletters. Thanks for that WWF. If u are reading this u r making a good decision for people and animals around the world because of this information that I was really suprised and happy to see that I saw in the info ok. Good old WWF for doing this and making the world a better place for tigers and leopards all around the globe.

A tribute to Arthur William Badden Powell.

Have any of you heard of the guy by the name of Arthur William Badden Powell?? Well I have and he is a wonder to my eyes. He died at the age of 86 or 85 (dunno when his birthday was) on the 1st of July in the year 1987. If he was alive today he would be 106 or 105. Will post the final details on this as soon as I know when his birthdate was ok. He is the founder of Scouts and his wife of course is the founder of Girl Guides. He was also a conology person **conology is a study of sea shells**. He named more than 1,000 different species of molusc, sub species or species. He was a marvelous person when he lived. If any of u want to know more about NZ animals that I have not told u about get out a book called Powells Native Animals of New Zealand the 4th edition or the book called Native Animals of New Zealand - edition 3. It is a must read for all ppl out there who want to learn more about New Zealands native animals and fauna as well. Well thats all I have to say about this guy. When I reccomend this book I definatly recomend it and that is my final word. If u have any friends who would luv to learn stuff about NZ animals when they are in a different country or in New Zealand this is the book for them. Wish I could have a picture of the book but I will soon do it on another part of this blog with the pics soon OK. The pics will be posted only on Animal Luvers blog if anyone wants to see these pics. It is not yet done but it will soon be. I promise u that ok.

No 4 of Top 5 Wild Cats

This cat is the fastest cat in the world. It is also known to be the fastest animal on land, i dunno about the fastest animal either in the sea or on the land. Its name is of course the Cheetah.

This cat is far by the coolest cat I have ever heard of. Theres a joke that I know which includes this animal

Q : "What big cat do u never play cards with?" A : "The Cheetah."

It has a real big cat personality even though its not a big cat at all. There is something I have to say, rather than climbing up trees and jumping down trees, the cheetah would rather jump up trees and climb down them. The cheetah makes a bird like call instead of a roar because its legs and body is developed 4 running at high speeds like it does when it is hunting prey. I absolutly love this cat because of its strength to do speeds. It runs at short bursts but even that doesn't put me off at all.

No 5 of the Top 5 wild cats I luv

Here is the 5th one in it. I thought about this animal and realised that it is the rarest cat that I could find (Not included a species of leopard that I will show you as the days get shorter instead of longer). Check it out. Its name is the Ocelot.I found this cat as I was looking at endangered cats in a magazine 'Total Girl' and of course the tiger was no exception and this one came up to me as the 2nd coolest cat in the magazine I found. I dunno about the range of this cat but it has appeared to me as a new cool cat of the century, of 2006. Who knows it might be the 2nd or 3rd of the top 5 cats not the top 1st cat because the IndoChinese Tiger is one of the worlds greatest cats I have seen so far in my entire lifetime. This cat is also known as the painted leopard if u see it in zoos. It has 2 or maybe 1 Ocelot Cubs in a litter. The classified species is at least concern on the endangered list. As U have learned so have I and its been a remarkable journey learning all about the Ocelot.

5 big cats that I love.

Since I have done something about 20 New Zealand animals on my animal blog I thought I would take another turn and do 5 Big Cats that I have loved in 2005 to 2006. I will always publish it every year so here they are.

Well those are my 5 top big cats. I thought about the big cats I loved the most and one of them I put there for choice since it is not nearest to extinction but in this year or last year it shocked me by the point of its extinction. Will put photos of these animals on there soon. The Cheetah and the Ocelot are cats, but not big cats -Panthera- so I have changed it to my cat website, big or small, I will put them on this blog.
